This new development will provide a total of 33 new apartments (all one and two bedroomed), specifically designed for older people. 50% of the new homes are intended for affordable rent and the remainder are for Shared Ownership.
The new building replaces a former sheltered housing scheme, dating from the mid-seventies. It will be surrounded by mature trees which line the site boundaries, with views into an area of undisturbed woodland. It will sit alongside 22 flats owned by Brent Housing Partnership, and new and existing residents will share an outlook onto a newly landscape garden.
In keeping with the scale of its immediate neighbours, the new building is three storeys high, with further accommodation provided at roof level. All new homes have generous private balconies, or terraces and share access to two communal gardens. External walls are finished in a dark multi facing brick with projecting bays and the roof elements are clad in pre-patinated zinc.
The scheme will be delivered using Construction Management. TM Architects have been appointed by NHG (Network Housing Group) from inception through to completion, working alongside AMCM (Airey Miller Construction Management)
