A new build scheme regenerating a narrow strip of industrial land between Chiswick Park Underground Station (listed Grade 2) and the Gunnersbury Triangle Nature Reserve. The linear building ranges from 4 to 7 storeys in height with open aspects to all sides.
The development is mixed use, providing approximately 1000m2 of B1 office space in 3 units and 56 apartments in a range of tenures and dwelling sizes. The design approach was led by 3 key objectives - firstly to enhance the setting of Chiswick Park Underground station as a local landmark, secondly to provide Bollo Lane with a new and active frontage, and thirdly to create a development which complements the adjoining Nature Reserve.
All new homes include a range of environmentally friendly measures such as low and zero carbon technologies (a centralised gas-fired Combined Heat and Power plant and roof – mounted photovoltaics), and optimised levels of thermal insulation and water conservation measures. We worked closely with an ecologist and landscape architect to incorporate a series of measures intended to encourage bio-diversity and respect the wildlife habitats within the adjoining nature reserve.
